The US SEC Approves the Listing of Binary Options Linked to KPI on CBOE

According to CoinMeta, as reported by crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved the listing of binary options on CBOE that are linked to key performance indicators (KPIs) of the listed companies. These options involve companies such as Coinbase, Robinhood, and Bitcoin mining firm Mara. Traders can trade on indicators such as Coinbase trading volume, Mara Bitcoin production, as well as Robinhood customer numbers and revenue. Robinhood is expected to become the first retail brokerage to offer such products. This approval only applies to securities options with a specific structure; related contracts with other structures may still be regulated by the SEC. This product provides investors with a new channel to trade based on the operational performance of crypto-related companies, in addition to directly trading BTC prices.
