2026-10-15 21:01:49
According to CoinMeta, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ACSI) issued Consultation Paper 392 on October 15, 2026, proposing strict new regulations for crypto platforms that cover customer asset protection, private key management, and transaction supervision. The consultation period will end on November 27, 2026, after which ACSI will finalize the standards. The new regulations are expected to come into effect on April 8, 2027. Existing companies will need to apply for or renew their Australian financial services licenses by October 7, 2027. ACSI stated that all affected companies must comply with stricter customer asset protection standards to reduce the risk of customers losing their assets in case of financial issues on the platforms.
