According to CoinMeta, Solana ecosystem development company Anza stated that the mainnet test version of Alpenglow will be activated on October 21, 2026, at 22:50 (UTC +8), and transaction finality will be reduced from approximately 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds. Alpenglow will replace the TowerBFT voting mechanism with Votor. The network will first maintain the existing system for about 18 minutes, and after staking of SOL reaches 82% of the validator set, it will switch to Votor.
