According to CoinMeta, the Russian Central Bank has confirmed that it will ban peer-to-peer Bitcoin transactions starting from July 1, 2027. At that time, direct transactions of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies between individuals will no longer be legal. Under the updated regulatory guidelines, individuals will only be able to trade cryptocurrencies through licensed companies and will not be able to transfer cryptocurrencies to non-hosted wallets. The basis for this law is Federal Law No. 282-FZ, signed by Putin in 2023, which deals with digital currencies and digital rights.
