According to CoinMeta, and as reported by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CBC, the self-proclaimed "King of Cryptocurrencies," Aiden Pleterski is facing trial for fraud and money laundering charges. During the trial, a forensic accountant from the Ontario Securities Commission testified that between 2020 and 2022, Pleterski received approximately $25.67 million in investments. Of this amount, about $11.53 million was used for personal expenses, including the purchase of luxury cars worth around $3.96 million, payment of credit card bills amounting to about $3.47 million, and transfers to parents totaling about $2.62 million. Another $11.39 million was paid to investors. The accountant stated that no funds flowed into the trading platform designated in the investment contracts, FXChoice; only about $80,000 went into other foreign exchange and cryptocurrency trading platforms. The 27-year-old Pleterski has pleaded not guilty to the charges of fraud and money laundering, and the case is still under consideration.
