ZKsync: Single card capable of verifying Ethereum, Vitalik claims to have won the speed competition
2026-10-17 23:43:56
According to CoinMeta, ZKsync announced that its new Airbender Prime verifier can validate Ethereum blocks on a single GPU, with a speed of about 10 seconds per block. Based on ZKsync's own tests, a single NVIDIA RTX Pro with a 6000 Blackwell GPU was able to complete the validation of 99% of 7200 consecutive Ethereum blocks within 10 seconds. Vitalik Buterin congratulated them on this achievement, stating that the speed competition has been essentially won. The progress of ZKsync will drive the decentralization of Ethereum, reduce verification costs, and may in the future enable more small operators to participate.
