According to CoinMeta, electricity prices in Japan have reached a four-year high. Due to high fuel costs and a decrease in power generation caused by scheduled maintenance, the spot electricity price in Japan the following day touched its highest level in nearly four years. According to data from the Japanese Electricity Exchange (jepx), the national spot electricity price on Monday soared by more than a quarter compared to the previous week, reaching 31.15 yen per kilowatt-hour (approximately 0.19 US dollars). Spot prices increased in all major electricity-consuming regions, with the Tokyo area seeing a 19% rise, while the Kansai and Chubu regions saw increases of 61% and 19% respectively during the same period.
