2026-10-19 13:08:37
CoinMeta Data: The Qubic team announced that due to hackers exploiting security vulnerabilities in wallets, approximately 2.94 trillion QUC tokens (valued at around $1.4 million) were stolen, resulting in the suspension of their Layer-1 blockchain. Between October 17th and 18th, attackers targeted 1,404 wallets with insufficient randomness in their recovery seeds, causing significant financial losses. Qubic stated that 87.1% of the stolen funds are still within the network, while the remaining 12.9% have been transferred to MEXC, which froze the receiving accounts within about an hour. The project has not yet announced when blockchain operations will resume and is awaiting decisions from the network operators.
