According to CoinMeta, with court approval, the bankruptcy reorganization manager, Shinji Kobayashi ( nobuaki kobayashi ), has extended the deadlines for basic payments, lump-sum early payments, and mid-term payments from October 31, 2026, by one year to October 31, 2027. The manager stated that creditors who have completed the necessary procedures and did not encounter any issues during the payment process have basically received their payments, but there are still a large number of creditors who have not received their funds due to incomplete procedures or other problems that arose during the payment process. mt gox was once one of the largest Bitcoin exchanges in the world and went bankrupt in 2014 due to a major Bitcoin theft incident. This is the fourth consecutive year since 2023 that the payment deadline has been extended by one year.
