According to CoinMeta, scammers impersonated the artist Tyler Hobbs to promote a fake QQL NFT minting scheme, and there have been reports of at least one person losing funds by participating in this scheme. Yuga Labs, the vice president of blockchain, warned in a tweet on October 20th that multiple accounts were impersonating Hobbs and falsely claiming that the minting had reopened. Quit stated that it was known that one person's wallet had been stolen, while another avoided losses by using Pocket Universe security tools. The scammer created multiple accounts impersonating Hobbs, and Quit called on users not to interact with these accounts. Although the reported thefts have not been independently verified, no wallet addresses or transaction hashes were provided. The impostors also promoted a Dutch auction involving 900 QQL minting passes, with a starting price of 50 ETH, claiming to be in cooperation with the original creator; however, official materials do not confirm this auction. QQL was co-created by Tyler Hobbs and Dandelion Man and allows collectors to choose art pieces from their official NFT series.
