According to CoinMeta, blockchain detective Zachxbt indicated that in August 2026, for the centralized money laundering service FreedomXMR (FXMR) on Hyperliquid Core, over 87% of the capital inflows were directly related to illegal activities. Zachxbt tracked capital inflows of more than $10,000 each and found that over $20 million was associated with incidents such as ransomware, hacker attacks, and social engineering attacks, involving projects like Dcent Wallet, Fetch AI, Axelar, and Gamdom. The investigation also revealed that FXMR administrators obtained liquidity through KuCoin and related addresses made over 3,000 recharges to that exchange. Zachxbt has submitted the relevant blockchain data to the Hyperliquid team.
