According to CoinMeta, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo defended the Trump administration's support for Ukraine, stating that without American assistance, the country of Ukraine "would no longer exist." He made these remarks in response to questions regarding a report by The Wall Street Journal. The report stated that Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, ordered a slowdown in the operation of the Starlink satellite system, which has been helping Ukraine defend against Russian airstrikes. Pompeo said he was not aware whether the President was informed in advance about this matter; he also pointed out that, in any case, the United States cannot control how a private company handles its products. Pompeo revealed that U.S. special envoy Kurt Volker will hold talks with Russian officials in Saint Petersburg, which will be "very difficult negotiations." He said that the current focus of the talks is on the fate of the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine, and added that both sides have put forward some "creative ideas" to bridge their differences.
