Google is integrating the voice capabilities of Gemini with Gmail, Docs, and Keep. Users can now directly ask questions, dictate content, and perform operations such as searching, writing, and taking notes in natural language. This feature was first previewed on Google I in May and is now being made available to some paid users.

Gmail You can directly ask about the content of the email.

In Gmail, users no longer need to rely on the search bar; instead, they can ask the AI assistant about the information in their inbox. During the chat, the system will display a real-time transcription of the conversation, allowing users to see what is being said as they speak.

Docs and Keep have also been added with voice capabilities.

In Docs, users can first describe the content they want to write, and AI will generate a preliminary draft. The system can also invoke Gmail, Drive, chat records, and web page information to help supplement the material.

Keep Live is more like a voice note-taking tool. Users can directly dictate their records, and it can also help organize lists or recipes, such as listing the ingredients needed to make shakshouka.

Layered access for paid users

Google indicates that Gmail Live is available to users of Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra. Docs Live and Keep Live are, on the other hand, available to users of AI Pro and Ultra.

These functions are currently supported in English and can be used on iOS and Android. Google also indicates that Workplace Business customers will also receive these functions in the future.
