Intelligent ring manufacturer Circular has released a new generation of the Ring 3 series, which comes in two versions: Pro and Slim. Both devices feature NFC contactless payment capabilities and support sending alarms, reminders, and health alerts through ring vibrations. The company stated that pricing and pre-order information will be announced in the coming months, with an expected official launch at the beginning of 2027.
Two models are positioned differently.
Ring 3 Pro Features a more comprehensive health monitoring capability, and the device is also thinner than its predecessor. According to the company, this product is equipped with ECG functions that have been licensed by FDA. It can be used for atrial fibrillation detection, as well as supports blood pressure trend tracking, blood sugar monitoring, advanced sleep analysis, and a more comprehensive range of physiological data monitoring. The battery life can last up to 12 days, which is longer than the previous generation's 7 days.
Ring 3 Slim is lighter and thinner in design, focusing on basic health and daily wear. This version supports tracking of sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, skin temperature, and daily activities, with a battery life of up to 10 days.
Payment and reminder functions become new selling points
In this update, NFC payment is one of the common features of the two new products. Circular aims to expand smart rings from being a single health device to also being used in daily payment scenarios.
Another new feature is the fingertip vibration reminder. Users can use it for silent alarms, medication reminders, health alerts, and breathing training prompts. This design emphasizes low-disturbance interaction and is suitable for use during meetings, while sleeping, or in situations where it is not convenient to check the phone.
