IT News on October 13th: Samsung's first smart glasses will be available for purchase in about a month. Foreign media SammyGuru has released pictures of the full range of frame styles and colors for these smart glasses, which are a collaboration between Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

It is reported that when paired with standard lenses, the weight of these smart glasses is approximately 41 grams. If custom optical lenses are chosen, the weight will increase slightly, and there will also be differences in weight among different models.

At the Unpacked press conference, Samsung only stated that these glasses are lighter than most AI smart glasses; now, we finally have a specific numerical value to confirm this.

Core parameters

  • Chip: Snapdragon AR1 Gen1
  • Memory and Storage: 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage space
  • Camera: 12 million pixels, supports 30-frame 3K video recording

There are four microphones used for calls and voice interaction with Gemini. The glasses have 2GB of built-in memory and 64GB of storage space, which can be used to save photos and videos before transferring them to a smartphone later on.

The glasses support IPX4 waterproofing, so sweat and light rain will not cause damage, but the accompanying charging case does not have waterproof capabilities. The battery life is consistent with what Samsung promised at the Unpacked launch event: the glasses themselves have a maximum battery life of 9 hours; with the charging case fully charged, the total usage time can reach up to 72 hours.

Samsung Wallet prepares to integrate with USDC: Solana enters the mobile phone ecosystem, but its launch is still scheduled for the end of the month.
Stablecoin companies have always wanted to move from trading platforms to become a part of everyday payment tools for ordinary people, and this time it's mobile wallets that are set to be the entry point. Samsung USA and the official representatives of Solana have disclosed that Samsung Wallet plans to offer stablecoin functionality to eligible US Galaxy users in the last week of October. The initial rollout will focus on USDC, with Solana being one of the related transfer infrastructures. What can be confirmed today is the window for cooperation and reservation; it's not appropriate to claim that the feature, which has not yet been released, is already available to all mobile users. Samsung has also listed other infrastructure partners, so the statement that “Samsung Wallet only uses Solana” is also not accurate.

British banks say financing volumes are increasing, but deposits and costs are not moving in the same direction.
Also on October 8th, the Bank of England released another report that can easily be confused with credit surveys: the 'Bank Lending Survey' for the third quarter of 2026. This report examines where banks obtain funds, what costs they incur, and whether they are able to continue raising capital, rather than whether residents or businesses can obtain loans. The surveyed banks indicated that overall financing volumes increased in the third quarter and expect this trend to continue into the fourth quarter; however, retail deposits, corporate deposits, and other sources of financing did not all move in the same direction. When discussing a bank's lending capacity, it is often more relevant to look at the liability side first than to focus solely on loan interest rates, as this provides a closer approximation of the actual constraints faced by banks.
