News from the IT family on October 13th: KIOXIA (Kaixia) announced yesterday local time in the United States the launch of a CM9-DLC solid-state drive. This enterprise-level SSD adopts the EDSFF E3.S form factor and adds support for DLC (direct liquid cooling, cold plate liquid cooling) on top of the regular CM9 version.

CM9-DLC means that customers can fully adopt liquid cooling on a single server rack, using a single cooling system to cover both computing and storage components simultaneously.

CM9-DLC eSSD complies with PCIe 5.0, NVMe 2.0, NVMe-MI 1.2c specifications, supports OCP data centers, NVMe SSD v2.5 specifications, and supports dual-port configuration.

Its capacity can reach up to 32TB, offering versions for read-intensive (1DWPD) and mixed-load (3DWPD) scenarios. The sequential read/write performance can reach up to 14.8 GB IOPS and 11 GB IOPS respectively, while the random read/write performance at 4KiB sizes can reach up to 3400K IOPS and 800K IOPS respectively. It is very suitable for context caching use cases in SSD.
