On Tuesday, bond yields fell due to lower energy prices in the early session. Investors are focusing on key economic data set to be released this week, including the latest U.S. inflation figures.

The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds – the main benchmark for mortgage loans, auto loans, and credit card debt – fell by more than 5 basis points to 5.1937%.

The yield on 30-year U.S. Treasury bonds, which have a longer maturity and typically respond to geopolitical events, fell by 4 basis points to 5.5580%.

The yield on 2-year U.S. Treasury bonds, which moves more closely in line with the Federal Reserve's short-term interest rate decisions, fell by over 2 basis points to 4.7658%.

1 basis point is equal to 0.01%, which is one percent of 1%. The yield rate moves in the opposite direction to the price trend.

The U.S. Treasury market reopened for trading on Tuesday after being closed on Monday due to Columbus Day holidays.

Lending costs have declined due to a significant drop in oil prices on Tuesday. Investors continue to assess the possibility of more Russian diesel entering the global energy market following the so-called "energy ceasefire" between Russia and Ukraine, which was facilitated by the United States.

As of 3:50 a.m. Eastern Time, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures for November delivery fell by 1.49% to $92.34 per barrel.

Investors are preparing for the dense release of U.S. domestic economic data this week, which will provide a clearer picture of the U.S. inflation situation and interest rate trajectory.

The annual inflation rate for September, which is scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, is expected to be 3.7%, higher than the 3.4% in August, according to market expectations. Excluding food and energy, consumer prices are expected to rise from 2.4% in August to 2.5% on an annual basis.

Subsequently, on Thursday, the monthly Producer Price Index (PPI) for September and retail sales data will be released.
