Le克兰, Florida, October 14, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Florida Institute of Technology stated that according to the “2027 College and University Rankings” released by WalletHub on Monday, October 12th, the university ranked 4th in the nation in terms of career development outcomes and 1st among public universities.

For the third consecutive year, Florida Institute of Technology has made it to the list of universities in the United States with the best career development outcomes. The university officials state that they have surpassed well-known institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University, Duke University, Harvard University, and Princeton University in this metric.

“This national recognition reflects the strength of Florida Institute of Technology in helping students prepare for successful careers in high-demand fields,” said Dr. Devin Stephenson, the president of the institution. “By combining academic excellence with industry practice experience, we give our graduates a competitive advantage when they enter the workforce. We are accelerating the process of placing our graduates in influential and well-paid positions, enabling them to make an impact in their industries from day one.”

WalletHub evaluated 738 institutions in the 2027 rankings. Its career development outcomes category analyzed six indicators, including the return on educational investment, the proportion of graduates who secured full-time employment within six months after graduation, and the median salary after graduation.

As the only university in Florida that focuses entirely on STEM, Florida Institute of Technology claims that its graduates enjoy a strong return on their educational investment. According to MyFloridaFuture data, alumni of this institution have an average income of $93,600 five years after graduation, which is the highest among state universities in the system and 33% higher than the state-wide average.

"The high demand for our graduates is largely due to the experience they gain by facing real-world challenges during their time at Florida Institute of Technology," said Bryan Brooks, the Vice President for Student Affairs, Admissions Management, and Strategic Communications. "Employers know that a degree from Florida Institute of Technology represents solid technical expertise, adaptability, and the skills necessary to stand out in today's emerging industries."

This new WalletHub ranking further enhances the national recognition that Florida Institute of Technology has recently received. In September, U.S. News & World Report rated the school as number 1 among public colleges in the southern United States and number 16 among public engineering programs in the country that do not offer doctoral degrees.

The school authorities stated that alongside these achievements, the school's enrollment scale, academic programs, and campus facilities have also seen significant growth. This autumn, the school welcomed a record number of over 2,300 students, representing a 35% increase from two years ago.

To meet the ever-changing needs of the industry, Florida Institute of Technology has newly established undergraduate programs in Aerospace Engineering and Biomedical Sciences, which include specialized medical preparatory tracks developed in collaboration with the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine ( OCOM ).

Campus construction is also being advanced in parallel. The school authorities stated that the Student Achievement Center ( StAC ) is expected to begin construction next spring. This facility, covering an area of 138,400 square feet, will integrate academic support, career planning, career development, and opportunities for participation under one roof. The school authorities said that this new center represents another step in Florida Polytechnic University's ongoing investment in student success and will lay a solid foundation for their future careers.
