Portland, Oregon, USA, October 15th / PRNewswire / -- Semiconductor Systems Corporation Mueon Corporation announced today the completion of a $65 million Series A financing round, aimed at creating a new modular foundation for artificial intelligence and hyperscale computing. Maverick Sil led the investment in this round, with Intel Capital, Geodesic Alliances Fund, Oregon Venture Fund, M-Ventures, Wellington Capital, IQT, and Defined also participating in the investment.
This new capital marks the next phase of growth for Mueon after completing a $15.5 million seed round of financing in 2025 and emerging from its stealth mode. To date, the company has raised over $80 million in total. Mueon stated that this round of funding will be used to expand the engineering and operations teams, to advance Cubelets ™ from the platform development stage to broader system verification and production preparation, and to deepen ongoing customer collaborations.
"This financing enables us to bring the next generation of compute and storage system-level integration to market," said Mueon Corporation, co-founder and CEO of Wilfred Gomes. "The architecture of Mueon is designed to break through the current rack-level limitations and provide the density that the entire industry has only just begun to plan for."
Exponential Computing Platform for the System-Level Era
The core architectural concept of Mueon is Cubelets ™: modular three-dimensional (3D) computing and storage components. Mueon does not optimize each subsystem separately, but rather develops this platform around data mobility, power density, and deployment constraints, which are factors that increasingly define the economics of AI infrastructure. Cubelets ™ enhances computational density at the system level, reducing the physical distance data needs to be transmitted over and the resulting energy consumption costs, while also avoiding the large footprint associated with traditional server rack-based expansion. This architecture treats encapsulation, interconnection, power supply, and cooling as primary design variables, rather than issues to be addressed separately afterwards, and its scope of application extends beyond any single accelerator technology.
Since its seed round of financing, Mueon has expanded its project to four execution tracks:
- Silicon wafers and system architecture: Developing the computing, storage, and interconnection architectures required to transform Cubelets ™ into an extensible 3D system.
- Advanced integration: Developing encapsulation, power supply, and cooling solutions required for higher computational density, rather than simply replicating rack-level complexity on a smaller scale.
- Software and system orchestration: Building a software layer that enables modular hardware to be used through familiar AI frameworks and deployment processes.
- Ecosystem verification: Collaborating with technical, manufacturing, and industry partners to validate components, integration options, and the path from prototype to mass production.
“Mueon Team will combine their profound expertise in key technologies for modern data centers with their experience in deploying these technologies at system-scale,” stated Maverick Sil, the Senior Managing Director of Manish Muthal token issuance.
As part of this round of financing, Manish Muthal will join the board of directors of Mueon alongside Intel Capital's Managing Director, Srini Ananth.
"Mueon is fundamentally reimagining data center design," said Srini Ananth, the Managing Director of Intel Capital. "By integrating computing, storage, power supply, and cooling management into a unified system, the team is creating a path to expand AI infrastructure with better economics and efficiency, and this round of financing reflects the level of engineering expertise and ecosystem required to bring this vision to market."
Why this architecture is important at this moment
The goal of Mueon is to achieve up to 10 times higher power consumption and cost efficiency within the same rack space, and plans to expand the architecture to megawatt-level density as demand grows.
"The Cubelets ™ architecture of Mueon has created new possibilities for partners such as d-Matrix," said the co-founder and CTO Sudeep Bhoja of d-Matrix. "Combined with in-memory computing, the modular system architecture enables us to create infrastructure that is smaller, more densely packed, and specifically tailored to the workloads of AI, allowing us to experiment, optimize, and deploy on a new scale."
"For many years, large-scale data centers have been constrained by power supply and cooling limitations," said Rohit Vidwans, Co-CEO of Ampere Computing. Ampere Computing has now been integrated into SoftBank. "The modular approach of Mueon has rethought the physical components of infrastructure. We are delighted to collaborate with the team at Mueon to reduce the risks associated with this technology on the road to mass production."
