Arclin Announces Strategic Expansion of Paper Production Capacity for Nomex ®

A multi-million dollar investment in Asturias will enhance supply chain resilience and support the growing demand for Nomex ® paper in key markets such as aerospace, power infrastructure, electric vehicles ( EV ), defense, and others.

Alphalita, Georgia, USA, October 22, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Materials science company Arclin announced today that it will invest millions of dollars to expand the production capacity of its floc facility located in Asturias, Spain. This marks an important step in the company's long-term growth investment strategy for its Nomex ® business and will also enhance supply assurance for customers worldwide.

Since acquiring Nomex ® in April 2026, Arclin has been focusing on investing in capacity, reliability, and long-term growth to meet the continuously rising customer demands. The company expects the paper delivery volume in 2026 to set a record, and anticipates that the supply will continue to grow in 2027 as well.

"When we acquired Nomex ®, we committed to investing in its future," said Bradley Bolduc, the CEO of Arclin. "The capacity expansion in Asturias will strengthen our global manufacturing network and help us ensure that as demand grows in the aerospace, power infrastructure, defense, and transportation sectors, we can continue to support our customers."

The Asturian plant has been a cornerstone of the Nomex ® manufacturing network since 1993. With this investment, the facility will add Nomex ® paper production capacity and become one of four production sites within Arclin's global Nomex ® paper manufacturing network. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, with full production set to begin in early 2028.

"Our customers rely on Nomex ® paper to meet some of the world's most stringent application requirements, from airplanes and electric vehicles to power generation and grid infrastructure," said Mark Glaspey, President of Arclin. "For decades, Nomex ® has been the benchmark for key application performance standards. Building on this heritage, we are advancing technology, developing new specifications, and working closely with our customers to meet evolving performance requirements and support new applications. This investment reflects our confidence in the future of these markets, as well as the critical role that Nomex ® paper plays in them."
