Use of indicators other than GAAP
In addition to providing financial results prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States ( GAAP ), management also uses non- GAAP gross margin, non- GAAP operating margin, and non- GAAP net profit to evaluate the company's operational and financial performance. The company believes that disclosing non- GAAP financial results helps investors analyze its core business and business trends, compare them with previous periods, and enhances investors' ability to understand the company's performance from management's perspective. The aforementioned supplementary information should not be considered a substitute for the GAAP financial results. A table that adjusts the GAAP financial results with the non- GAAP financial results is attached at the end of this press release.
The company defines non-GAAP net profit as the net loss before deducting amortization of intangible assets, equity incentives, restructuring costs, debt refinancing costs, legal-related expenses, unrealized gains and losses on foreign exchange, value-added tax settlement, and the tax impacts related to the aforementioned adjustments.
Since fluctuations in the regional composition of earnings between quarters can affect tax rates and cannot be reasonably predicted or determined, it is not possible to provide a adjustment table for the next quarter's non-GAAP diluted earnings per share guidance. Based on this, such adjustments cannot be obtained without unreasonable effort, and the company is also unable to determine the potential significance of the missing information.
