New York, October 28 (Reuters/ PR Newswire ) – Fortune today announced the 2026-2027 Fortune Cyber 60 List, an annual ranking that aims to honor 60 important startups that are shaping the future of cybersecurity and receive support from venture capital.

This list was compiled by the editorial team of Fortune, in collaboration with Lightspeed Venture Partners and AWS. It focuses on companies that are developing innovative technologies to help businesses cope with increasingly complex digital threats.

These 60 companies are presented in a non-ranked manner and are divided into three stages of development:

  • Early ( Early )
  • Early Growth ( Early Growth )
  • Growth ( Growth )

This year's list includes 24 newly added companies, among which 16 are in the early stages of development, such as Artemis Security, Corma, Frontier Security, and Oz Security, etc.

Lightspeed and Fortune collaborated closely to complete most of the research work for the 2026 rankings. The selection process evaluated companies within the cybersecurity startup ecosystem, with assessment factors including business growth, product innovation, market impact, as well as the ever-changing needs of corporate security leaders.

BJW_KEEP_00002, Technology Editor and West Coast Bureau Chief, stated, “Over the past 12 months, cyberattack threats driven by cyberattacks have transformed from a potential risk into a dangerous reality for businesses. BJW_KEEP_00004’s 60 list focuses on startups developing the most innovative technologies to address this threat and protect business security in this new era.”

Lightspeed Venture Partners Partner Guru Chahal stated: "We are delighted to collaborate with Fortune for the fourth consecutive year, recognizing those companies that are shaping the future of cybersecurity. This year's Fortune Cyber survey emerged at a critical moment in the industry, as AI is changing the threats organizations face, as well as the tools they use for defense. Our latest CISO survey further illustrates the depth of these changes: 75% of respondents have experienced or suspect that security incidents related to AI have occurred, and 88% expect their security budgets to increase."

Chahal added, "What excites us the most is that a generation of founders is emerging to meet this challenge – they are not just adding AI to existing products, but are fundamentally reimagining what cybersecurity can be. Fortune Cyber honors those companies that are leading this transformation."

To celebrate being selected as part of the 2026 Fortune Cyber 60 list, Lightspeed and AWS Startups will be hosting an event exclusively for invited guests this morning at the New York Stock Exchange. The event will bring together founders of cybersecurity companies, investors, executives, industry leaders, and representatives from some of the companies on the list.

The event will be held at the New York Stock Exchange, where Cyber award-winning companies, Lightspeed partners, and AWS Startups teams will be present. Following that, there will be a tour behind the scenes of the New York Stock Exchange trading floor during the opening bell ceremony. Fortune, a senior contributor and Term Sheet editor, will moderate a panel discussion, with guests including some of the Cyber award winners and special guests.
