Brussels, November 5, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Secure Identity Alliance ( SIA ) Today, it was announced that during the TRUSTECH Paris event to be held from December 1st to 3rd, 2026, at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, OSIA on-site interoperability demonstrations will be continuously conducted. Six identity technology providers: DIGITECH, iDAKTO, IN Groupe, Mü hlbauer, Thales, and X Infotech will connect their respective systems through OSIA. OSIA is the international standard for interoperable identity management systems, namely the ITU - T X.1281 recommendation. The aforementioned parties will jointly complete a full birth registration process, from verifying the parents' identities to printing the birth certificate on a card and completing the verification on the spot.

SIA indicates that visitors can participate in the experience on-site at Trustech and receive a birth certificate card on the spot.

A birth certificate is a person's first identity document and also serves as the basis for all subsequent documents, including national ID cards, passports, and driver's licenses. However, in many countries, birth certificates are still in paper form, which makes them susceptible to forgery, and it is difficult to replace them if lost. Modernization requires the integration of multiple components such as registration collection, biometric identification, generation of unique identification numbers, document management systems, as well as civil and population registration systems. These systems are usually provided by different suppliers, and in the absence of unified standards, each integration requires high costs and binds the government to a single supplier.

According to the demonstration schedule, visitors will play the role of children who have been registered for birth. The system will first obtain and verify the identities of the parents, after which the visitors will submit their personal information and undergo on-site facial recognition. Once the data verification is completed, the system will finalize the birth registration and assign a unique identification number (UIN) to the visitors playing the role of children. Subsequently, the visitors will receive a birth certificate on the spot: their personal data and portrait will be printed on a card, accompanied by a visible digital seal (QR code). Finally, visitors can present this QR code to a mobile application, which will extract the data and portrait from different OSIA identity verification systems to complete the authentication process.

For privacy protection, visitors' faces will be displayed on the screen and stored only for the purpose of printing birth certificates within the context of this demonstration. Fingerprint collection will not be conducted, and the "child" is a fictional character. All data will be deleted at the end of each day's event.

Chairman Debora Comparin stated: "Interoperability is often described as a commitment. In TRUSTECH, governments around the world will see how it truly functions – from a child's first identity record to a document that can be trusted anywhere. Six competing independent companies have jointly built a seamless process, and they take turns leading it every day. This is precisely the value that OSIA brings to governments: they can freely choose the best system modules for each step without being locked in by a single supplier."

This demonstration will also be held as a stage presentation at ID Conference Room on Wednesday, December 2nd, at 12:00 PM.
