I attended a conference held by Fireworks AI in San Francisco on Tuesday and met with the company's Vice President of Technology and Strategy, Rob Ferguson.

He showed me an amazing demonstration: a AI model running on a Fireworks system that managed to create a video game from scratch in about 5 seconds. (By the way, this is much faster than Claude Code.)

This game is “Asteroids”. Seeing Rob playing it, it instantly brought back memories of my childhood.

I used to play Asteroids on my own Oric-1 computer. My father bought that computer because it was cheaper than the Commodore 64 model. (Yes, I still hold a grudge about that to this day.) Back then, I had to use a cassette tape player to load the game, and the whole process took about 10 minutes.

And now, a AI model can "create" this game in just a few seconds, rather than just loading it.

Why is this important?

Rob explained that if AI is to efficiently represent us in handling tasks in the future, speed will be of paramount importance.

These days, collaborating with AI agents often means having to wait for them to finish their tasks, and occasionally you even have to give them a nudge to get things moving. This is known as “botsitting”, and it can be quite frustrating.

Faster AI models might change that. We no longer have to wait patiently; instead, we can watch the agents complete tasks in just a few seconds without interrupting our work rhythm.

The demonstration of Rob is exactly like this. Asteroids appeared so quickly that he was able to immediately ask AI to continue improving it, turning this game into a 3D version and adding new weapons, including brightly colored lasers.

He didn't just use AI to create Asteroids from scratch; he also made it better. The entire process took only about 15 seconds.

Encrypted 401(k) rules enter final review at the White House
The U.S. Department of Labor has submitted the final rules regarding alternative investments in retirement plans to the White House for review. This framework may make it easier for employers to offer exposure to crypto assets through 401(k) accounts. OIRA has received these rules and marked them as pending review. The rules cover six factors that trustees should consider when choosing alternative investment options. The article also mentions that U.S. 401(k) plans held $10.8 trillion in assets at the end of June; Sweep estimates that if 2% of this amount flowed into digital assets, the total would reach $216 billion.
