Vlad Tenev: Listed companies have no control over the tokenization of their stocks by third parties
2026-09-09 22:57:01
According to CoinMeta, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev stated that after a listed company's stocks are publicly traded, other financial institutions have the right to issue related financial products without prior permission from the issuer. Robinhood Stock tokens are issued by independent entities and are backed by the underlying stocks, and therefore do not require the consent of the issuer. AMC CEO Adam Aron has criticized the tokenization of AMC stocks, arguing that it bypasses the issuing company, and that token holders do not possess voting rights in the underlying stocks.
