According to CoinMeta, Truflation predicts that the annual CPI in the United States in August will remain at 3.4%, as rising gasoline prices, tariffs, and production costs threaten to push inflation pressures beyond the Federal Reserve's target. Truflation noted in its August inflation report that the decline in CPI in July was mainly due to falling energy prices, rather than a significant alleviation in underlying costs. It is expected that a reversal in energy prices, along with higher tariffs and input costs, will affect the release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday. The Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank and market consensus also predict an annual CPI of 3.4% and a core CPI of 2.4%.
