According to CoinMeta, the Republican Party of the U.S. Senate has released an updated version of the Clearing House Act text, which reflects changes negotiated during the August recess. The ethics section seems to remain unchanged, as does the BRCA and stablecoin earnings sections. The changes include: requiring non-decentralized DEFI protocols to register with the CFTC, in compliance with Section 10301 of the Banking Committee Act, which limits DEFI provisions to spot or cash digital commodity transactions. The aim is to address concerns raised by tribes regarding blockchain-based predictive markets and to clarify the trading authorities of credit cooperatives in the crypto sector.
