According to CoinMeta, a state-owned energy company in Poland paid $2.3 million USDT for orders that were not delivered. The transaction was concluded at a yacht party in Abu Dhabi, with the counterparty being a Dubai trader that had been established for only two and a half years. Due to U.S. sanctions, this $2.3 million was converted into USDT and loaded onto USB drives, followed by a physical delivery at hotels and restaurants in Caracas. Six oil tankers were dispatched to collect the oil but waited in vain off the Venezuelan coast for several months. Venezuela's state-owned oil company stated that it never received a single penny. Three former executives have been criminally charged, with the total loss amounting to $424 million.
