The previous OpenAI researcher created a AI that “cannot chat”: Jev only makes judgments, with a speed up to 200 times.

According to CoinMeta, the Typesafe AI founded by former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida has introduced a new model called Jev. This model is similar to a super classifier that can understand natural language; it does not generate text but instead returns options, scores, and probabilities, and is specifically designed for software-based judgments. Ordinary large models require a token process to generate results one by one, whereas Jev can provide multiple results in parallel. Typesafe also uses a new RLCD method to train its confidence level, allowing the model to inform the program of its own degree of certainty while making a judgment. In self-built evaluations, Jev is approximately 193.6 times faster than Claude Sonnet and about 444.6 times cheaper than Claude Opus. Typesafe refers to Jev as the first “System One Model” (fast decision-making model), a name derived from Kahneman’s book “Thinking, Fast and Slow.”
