According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, Deutsche Bank (Deutsche Bank AG), Germany's largest commercial bank, has announced the official launch of an encrypted asset custody service. The service is expected to go live later this year after obtaining final regulatory approval, allowing institutional and corporate clients to manage and transfer Bitcoin, Ethereum, and selected stablecoins within their compliance frameworks. In the future, plans are to further expand it to include tokenized financial instruments. Gerald Podobnik, co-head of Deutsche Bank's corporate banking division, stated that digital assets are an important complement to traditional financial systems, not a substitute. In the initial phase, the service will be available primarily to German domestic clients. Additionally, the service is mainly targeted at asset management institutions, hedge funds, custody intermediaries, sovereign wealth funds, and corporate clients engaged in blockchain business.
