Galaxy Research: In 2026, Q2 crypto venture capital rebounds to $5.6 billion

CoinMeta data: According to the Galaxy Research report, venture capital activity in the crypto and blockchain sectors rebounded in the second quarter of 2026 after a cooling down in the first quarter. A total of approximately $5.6 billion was invested, involving 384 deals, with the investment amount increasing by 31% quarter-on-quarter and the number of deals growing by 10%. Based on the investment pace of the first half of the year, the annualized investment for 2026 is estimated to be around $20.037 billion, which is slightly lower than the full-year level of 2025 but higher than most periods from 2023 to 2024. In the later stages, companies received 78.3% of the total investment amount for that quarter. Companies in the transaction, exchange, investment, and lending sectors led with approximately $3.523 billion in investments. Companies headquartered in the United States received 73.5% of the total investment. It remains difficult to raise funds for new funds; in the second quarter, only 5 new crypto venture capital funds raised a total of about $3.9 billion, which is the lowest number of new funds in a quarter since the fourth quarter of 2019.
