According to CoinMeta, the S&P Dow Jones indices (S&P P Dow Jones Indices, Kaiko, and Derivnex) announced that Canton Network has completed its first over-the-counter (OTC) swap transaction, executed by the trading firm DRW with the financial services group Marex through the Derivnex platform. This transaction is linked to the iBoxx U.S. dollar liquid investment-grade bond index, which has been tokenized on the Canton network by Kaiko. It represents the first over-the-counter derivatives transaction that uses a fully tokenized index as its underlying asset. The terms of the transaction are recorded in the form of smart contracts on the Canton network, enabling both parties to share valuation and transaction lifecycle data. In the future, there are plans to further integrate on-chain cash and collateral to achieve on-chain processing of margin and contract payments.
