Starknet Launches Privacy Feature: Shadow Accounts, Supporting Independent Addresses to Participate in DEFI
2026-10-14 01:50:26
According to CoinMeta, Starknet has launched a privacy feature called shadow accounts ( shadow accounts ), which allow users to participate in public DEFI activities through independent addresses while hiding the association between that address and their main wallet. Shadow accounts are funded by privately protected strk20 balances; the remaining balances, transaction records, and protocol positions are still publicly visible on the blockchain, but the association with the main wallet is kept private. Potential use cases for this feature include providing liquidity, setting up trades, transferring cross-chain assets, and engaging in collateral lending. The first integrated application will be launched on October 15th, with more integrations following thereafter.
