According to CoinMeta, jito has announced an upgrade to the infrastructure for processing transaction packets on Solana, introducing a direct connection feature direct bundle ingest ( dbi ). This allows searchers to directly submit transaction packets to bam nodes through quic or json-rpc, without having to go through jito block engine. The transaction packets previously received by block engine and the traffic from sendtransaction are now also forwarded directly through dbi to bam, skipping the approximately 50-millisecond auction process of block engine. Data from jito shows that compared to the period from September 3rd to 20th, during the time from September 20th to October 7th, the number of transaction packets received by bam decreased by 7.5%, while the number of successfully uploaded packets increased by 16.9%. The end-to-end success rate of uploading to the blockchain rose from 0.45% to 0.57%, and the average reward per successfully uploaded transaction packet increased by 72.4%. The total transaction packet tips also increased from 14,279 SOL to 28,765 SOL, representing a growth of 101.5%. Currently, this feature is only available to some early adopters dbi.
