Members from the teams of BigMachines (now Oracle CPQ) and SteelBrick (now Salesforce CPQ) have launched a new CPQ initiative, aimed at enabling sales representatives, distributors, customers, and websites to quote prices for complex products as easily as if they were having a conversation.

Chicago, October 1, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Threekit Today, we announce the launch of Threekit AI - Native CPQ, a platform that is designed from scratch for AI as well as the current sales methods of manufacturers and B2B companies, covering configuration, pricing, and quotation processes.

Traditional CPQ is built for order entry.

Traditionally, it is assumed that the user already knows the exact requirements, products, and options necessary to complete an order. CPQ

This is effective for trained users who are familiar with the process, but it is not applicable when either the buyer or seller is not clear about what exactly they should order.

A common scenario is that sales representatives and distributors rely on product experts to translate customer requirements into the correct configurations. Quotations often go through multiple handovers, and it is also difficult to naturally integrate inputs such as photos, voice notes, specification descriptions, and RFP into the established configuration process.

In addition, traditional CPQ has to a large extent never truly made its way to the web. It was designed for trained internal users, not for customers who are trying to figure out for themselves what to buy.

Threekit CEO Matt Gorniak said: "We have worked on the previous generation of CPQ. We are very aware of where it would fail. Traditional CPQ assumes that you already know what to order, but in reality, most buyers and sellers do not. This is why manufacturers still need experts to be involved among so many quotes. We started from scratch and rebuilt it with AI at its core, allowing sales representatives, distributors, or customers to simply describe what they need and get an effective solution. Moreover, they expect a consumer-grade AI experience: it's simple, capable of completing valuable tasks, and accurate."

AI Native CPQ Starting from the goal, solve problems first.

The approach of Threekit is different.

It does not force users to proceed along a preset path; instead, it allows users to tell Threekit what goals they wish to achieve.

Threekit will interpret the request, conduct a needs analysis, recommend solutions, and verify them according to the manufacturer's products, pricing, and business rules.

As a result, CPQ is presented as a dynamic, conversational experience on the front end, while it is still constrained by the company's product catalog and rules at the underlying level.

The goal of Threekit is to make it easier for manufacturers and B2B companies to be purchased, which is very important. A B2B Pulse survey conducted by McKinsey in 2024 among 4,000 B2B decision-makers showed that: "More than half of the respondents stated that if they did not experience a smooth process across different channels, they would likely turn to other suppliers."

AI proxies the web page clues driven by CPQ.

AI The original CPQ has been changed. CPQ can now exist in these locations.

The same intelligence used by sales representatives can also be directly run on manufacturers' websites to help customers understand which products suit their needs, configure the appropriate products, and obtain quoteable solutions through AI sales agents.

Websites are no longer just static product catalogs or lead generation forms; they can now perform the tasks of a knowledgeable sales representative.

A leading door and window manufacturer doubled the number of leads after launching a purchasing experience on its website driven by Threekit.

CPQ for dealers and sales representatives

Dealers and sales representatives don't need to start with a perfect product input.

They can provide the information they already have at hand – specifications, photos, voice notes, RFP, or project descriptions – to Threekit, and the system can then convert this information into effective product recommendations and quotes.

A leading commercial pipeline manufacturer has now increased the speed of generating quotes by four times using Threekit.
