Leveraged positions worth approximately $800 million were liquidated in the past 24 hours, of which 86% were long bets. Chip stock contracts accounted for a portion of the losses on crypto exchanges.

According to CoinGlass data, crypto exchanges liquidated leveraged positions worth approximately $803 million within 24 hours, with bullish bets accounting for 86% of the losses. Bitcoin once fell below $81,000.

The settlement amount for perpetual futures reached 19.09 million US dollars, exceeding XRP, which also highlights the increasing use of crypto trading platforms for leveraged betting on semiconductor stocks.

Subsequently, this trend reversed, with Bitcoin rebounding above $83,000. Among the $74 million in positions that were liquidated over the next four hours, shorts accounted for 79%.

In the past 24 hours, traders who bet on SanDisk suffered losses due to forced liquidations that exceeded those of traders who bet on XRP – this indicates how much leverage is currently concentrated on chip stocks on crypto exchanges.

CoinGlass It was reported that leveraged positions worth approximately $803 million were liquidated on 10 exchanges. Liquidation refers to the exchange forcibly closing a trader's borrowed positions when the collateral has been exhausted due to losses. Long positions, which are bets on rising prices, accounted for $694 million, or about 86%, and a total of 172,113 traders were affected.

Most of the losses were concentrated in a wave of selling. Due to the South Korean Composite Stock Price Index ( KOSPI ) falling by more than 6%, and Bitcoin dropping to just below $81,000, approximately $595 million, nearly three-quarters of the total amount for the day, was liquidated within the past 12 hours. The largest single margin call came from a $9.65 million long Bitcoin position on Binance, with a closing price of around $81,773. Binance accounted for half of all the liquidations.

Bitcoin led with a settlement amount of $181 million, and although Ethereum has a much smaller market value, its settlement amount was also close to $178 million. SOL suffered a loss of $60 million in positions, ZEC lost $24 million, and NEAR lost $22 million.

Stock contracts subsequently appeared. Perpetual futures tracking the American storage chip manufacturer SanDisk were liquidated for $19.09 million, slightly higher than $19.04 million for HYPE and $18.78 million for XRP. Such perpetual futures allow traders to bet on stock prices around the clock on crypto platforms without a maturity date. Contracts for SK Hynix and Micron, as well as SOXL – a US semiconductor with three times leverage – and ETF also appeared on the heat map, with SOXL having a liquidation amount of $7.21 million.

Crude oil, on the other hand, shows the opposite trend. The WTI and Brent crude oil contracts are among the few varieties on the chart where short positions outnumber long positions, as Brent has remained around $106 after three consecutive days of gains.

There has since been a reversal in the flow of funds. Of the 74 million US dollars that were liquidated over the past four hours, 59 million US dollars, or 79%, came from short sellers, as Bitcoin rebounded above 83,000 US dollars.
