Garmin ( NYSE : GRMN ) announced on Tuesday the launch of Descent X10, its latest dive computer that allows divers to obtain key diving information at a glance.
This device is equipped with a readable 2.1-inch backlit screen, allowing divers to quickly check information such as depth, time, and oxygen levels from their wrists. Whether in a diving pool or open waters, users can choose from various diving modes to meet different needs, and all data can be seamlessly recorded and tracked through the Garmin Dive smartphone app. A new colored strap protector needs to be purchased separately; it adds a personalized touch and helps divers distinguish their own device.

Garmin, Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing, stated: "Clear and easily accessible diving data can be crucial underwater. Descent X10 brings this vital information to your wrist, while also providing reliable diving functions and a durable design that helps divers stay alert and supported from the very first training session onwards."
Suitable for every dive.
- Readable display: From the strong sunlight on the ship to the darker underwater environment, the always-on, high-contrast 2.1-inch display with large fonts and backlight make it easier to view diving data.
- Multiple diving configurations: Descent X10 offers scuba tank, breath-holding, and instrument diving modes, and on a device with a water resistance rating of 10 ATM, the most relevant data for divers is placed in the most prominent positions.
- Rechargeable battery: One charge can provide up to 50 hours of diving time; in standby mode, the battery life can last up to 6 months.
- Garmin Dive Smartphone App: It can automatically upload dive logs, mark locations, track the usage of equipment, and more after each dive.
- Device simulator: Pairing the dive computer with the Garmin Dive application allows for a full dive simulation before actual diving, providing practice for real-scenario scenarios and helping users become familiar with Descent X10.
- NDL Aware In-depth indicators: Divers can extend their time staying at the bottom and view in real-time how changes at specific depths affect their no-decompression limit ( NDL ).
- Setting Sharing: Users who wish to dive with backup devices can synchronize their settings between multiple compatible Descent diving computers.
Customizable appearance
Users can change the appearance of the Descent X10 between each dive by using new replaceable bezel protectors (sold separately). These accessories are available in a variety of colors such as Amp Yellow, Aqua, Purple Iris, and Black, adding personality to the device while also providing extra protection. In addition to the included silicone strap that can be worn over a wetsuit, the Descent X10 is also compatible with the optional QuickFit straps, which come in a range of colors as well. The Descent X10 also uses materials suitable for its environment of use – both the body and the bezel are made 100% from recycled marine plastics.
Leasing Model
Descent X10 is also aimed at simplifying the process for dive schools, dive shops, and boat charter operators to rent diving computers. With the rental model, the equipment can be customized according to the diver's skill level and can be quickly reset after each use. Additionally, with the option to add colored bezel protectors, it becomes easier to track the rental inventory as well.
Descent X10 is now available on the market, with a recommended retail price of $349.99. For more information, please visit garmin.com.
