Wayne, Pennsylvania, November 5 (Reuters) / PRNewswire / -- In self-insured and fully insured health plans, most employees already have access to services provided by registered dietitians and licensed therapists, but a large portion of this care is not being utilized. Today, HUSK, a preventive health technology company that serves self-insured and fully insured employers as well as health insurance companies, announced the launch of its integrated health ecosystem HUSK Wellness.

This integrated ecosystem combines healthy living programs with clinical care into a personalized experience, and provides result reports that employers can act on.

For over thirty years, HUSK has been helping employers promote employee participation in health programs. During this time, the company has repeatedly observed the same gaps: benefits were scattered among different providers, already covered healthcare services were not utilized, and employers did not have a reliable way to link health expenditures with outcomes. HUSK states that HUSK Wellness addresses these gaps by creating a personalized path for each employee, which encompasses five benefits: Challenge, Rewards, Marketplace, Nutrition, and Mental Health. Each path is shaped by the employer's goals and driven by the employee's own choices.

HUSK, President and CEO, Erin Markowski stated: "For many years, employers have purchased health benefits one supplier at a time, resulting in these benefits remaining unused and without a clear link to medical costs. Clinical care is already covered by health plans, whether employers fully insure it or opt for self-insurance. Our job is to connect these benefits with the healthy habits that people prefer, so that employees will actually make use of them, and employers will finally be able to see if their investment in health is reducing medical expenses."

The journey of HUSK Wellness begins with an introductory process guided by HUSK, the health assistant Poppie. Poppie understands each employee's goals, interests, and preferences, and then constructs a personalized path among all five benefits. Since all content is located within one interconnected ecosystem, employees spend less time searching and more time participating. Employers can see usage patterns, return on investment, as well as the relationship between participation levels and high-cost usage scenarios such as emergency visits and chronic disease expenses.

HUSK The product leader, Samantha Chase, stated: "The original intention of most health platforms is to encourage people to participate. Our platform is built around choices. Employees tell Poppie what they care about, and the platform constructs their experience around those interests. People will stick to what they choose for themselves."

HUSK Wellness is now available to employers and health insurance partners. Employers can apply for a demonstration at https :// huskwellness.com.
