WASHINGTON, November 5th / PRNewswire / -- Beatrice & Asuncion PLLC Today, we announce that Lisa Bencivenga and T. Brent Jones have joined the team, bringing additional industry and engineering expertise to our export compliance, licensing, technical assessment, and remediation efforts.

Bencivenga will serve as the Director of Compliance and Licensing, while Jones will take on the role of Director of Technical Assessment. Their joining is based on the firm's business launch in October 2026, and they will continue to drive the expansion of its national security business.

"The decisions our clients face carry consequences in terms of law, business, and national security," said founding partner M. Jeffrey Beatrice. " Lisa and Brent have decades of experience in the products, technologies, and business operations behind these decisions. Their backgrounds in industry and engineering add another dimension to the legal and investigative judgments that clients rely on."

Bencivenga has over 35 years of experience in export and import licensing as well as trade compliance. She has worked at Boeing and Orbital Sciences, and has been running her own consulting business since 2004. She has provided advice to more than 150 American and foreign companies on regulatory and policy matters, developed licensing strategies and compliance plans, and conducted jurisdiction and classification analyses.

Bencivenga has conducted compliance audits for clients and under the direction of the U.S. State Department. The State Department has also authorized her to perform audits and monitoring on companies that operate in accordance with agreed-upon agreements. She previously held a position in the State Department's Defense Trade Advisory Group. In that role, her work covered compliance programs, licensing, audits, training, due diligence, and remediation.

"Export compliance is tested every day, as reflected in the decisions made by companies regarding their products, technologies, and customers," said Bencivenga. "Brent and I understand the engineering issues, licensing requirements, and commercial pressures behind these decisions. At Beatrice & Asuncion, we have worked side by side with lawyers and investigators who have dealt with these issues in senior government positions. For customers, this is a powerful combination."

Jones is trained in electrical engineering and has 25 years of experience in export and import licensing as well as trade compliance. He has worked at General Dynamics and Esterline Technologies. He has managed licensing teams, served as an authorized officer, and has led jurisdiction and classification reviews in collaboration with the engineering department. Previously, he also held a position on the Information Systems Technical Advisory Committee at the Bureau of Industry and Safety.

Jones will apply his engineering background to the technical assessments in the regulatory, compliance, and investigation work of that institution.

"An export control issue may depend on what a particular product or technology is actually used for, as well as which rules apply," said founding partner Anthony Asuncion. " Lisa and Brent bring decades of industry and engineering experience to the analysis that supports our legal advice. In this field, the strength of the legal answer depends on the strength of the technical answer."

Bencivenga and Jones have joined a team that also includes the investigation director Philip R, Kuhn, and Of Counsel Debra S.P., as well as Cheng. This team brings together experience from senior positions in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Commerce, federal investigations, and industry trade compliance.
