Asset management firm BlackRock stated that with the return of investors, its crypto asset portfolio has grown by 63% to reach $79.6 billion, although the holdings are still 23% lower than a year ago.

BlackRock stated that its digital asset funds attracted $7.9 billion in inflows during the third quarter, reversing the outflows of about $2.2 billion in the first half of 2026.
The rise in cryptocurrency prices contributed $22.9 billion of the $30.8 billion increase in managed assets for that quarter.
Despite a rebound, BlackRock's holdings in digital assets are still 23% lower than they were a year ago. However, in the past 12 months, investors have netted $6.3 billion in investments into its products.
BlackRock's crypto funds performed significantly better in the third quarter than in the first half of this year, but there is still a long way to go before they can recover the assets lost during the broader crypto market downturn.
In its third-quarter financial report released on Wednesday, this asset management company stated that as of the end of September, its digital asset management scale reached $79.6 billion, a 63% increase from $48.8 billion at the end of June.
In the third quarter, investors invested $7.9 billion in BlackRock's digital asset products, which is sufficient to cover the outflow of about $2.2 billion in the first six months of this year.
This reversal occurred as the crypto market recovered from its slump earlier this year. Bitcoin BTC was trading at $83,212.45, while other cryptocurrencies faced pressure in the first half of the year, dragging down the value of funds that held these assets. The rebound in the third quarter boosted these funds, and new investment demand also increased their asset size.
Rising prices are the main driving force. Of the $30.8 billion in digital assets added by BlackRock in the third quarter, $22.9 billion came from market gains, while investors contributed $7.9 billion.
Even after the rebound, BlackRock's crypto holdings are still 23% lower than the nearly $104 billion it managed a year ago.
This gap is not due to investors abandoning their products. In the past 12 months, BlackRock's digital asset funds have attracted $6.3 billion in net new capital, but the market value of these assets has declined by $30.6 billion during the same period.
These data remind people that, despite investors continuing to invest funds in its products, BlackRock's crypto business still relies to a large extent on the prices of the assets held by the funds.

BlackRock did not disclose the assets or capital flow data of its Bitcoin fund separately in its financial reports.
